Energy production
Helsingin Energia produces electricity and district heat by combined heat and power (CHP) generation, which is efficient with respect to the environment and costs.
In addition to low-emission CHP, our diverse production structure includes generation with nuclear power and emission-free renewable energy sources.
Heat, electricity and cooling are produced mainly in our own power plants, heating plants in various parts of Helsinki. We also procure energy through our associated companies outside Helsinki and from the electricity exchange.
