Evaluation of the condition of district heating equipment
The heating services of Helsingin Energia include evaluations of district heating equipment. Evaluations are used to examine the general condition of a building’s heating equipment and to propose measures for equipment maintenance. A suitable interval for inspecting heating equipment is 15 years.
-
When you replace the equipment on time, you achieve cost savings at the same time because planned replacement always guarantees a better and cheaper result than an emergency replacement. However, there is no need to replace all equipment every time. In the case of equipment that is in good condition, savings can be achieved by adjusting the set values of equipment. The normal service life of heating equipment is 20 to 25 years. It pays to replace equipment older than 20 years all at once.
-
New district heating equipment takes considerably less space than old equipment. New automatic heat control devices that are more versatile and more accurate help to reduce building heating expenses.
-
The best time to perform inspections is winter when the heating season is at its peak and testing is easy to undertake. Thus necessary repairs and replacements can be scheduled for outside of the peak heating season.
