District heating bills
The district heating bill specifies water flow and energy charges separately. The water flow charge is determined according to the contracted water flow, which is influenced by the heating requirement of the building and the heating system.
The energy charge is paid for the heat energy used, which is measured using Helsingin Energia’s heat consumption meter located in the customer’s building. The amount of the energy charge is determined by fuel prices and the wholesale price index. The energy charge is adjusted monthly. In summer, the energy charge is one half of the charge in winter.
