Electricity bills
Would you like to have an equal instalment bill or a bill based on measured consumption? The price is the same in both alternatives, and you will not pay for anything extra in either case.
Equal instalment bill
Equal instalment billing is typically used in situations where the electricity meter cannot be read remotely. The meter is read for balancing purposes (i.e. for drawing up a balancing bill) once a year. The other bills are estimated bills and their amounts are equal. The annual forecast for estimated bills is usually based on the previous electricity consumption of the place of electricity use.
Bill based on measured consumption
When billing is based measured consumption, the customer reports his or her meter reading for each billing period, unless the electricity meter can be read remotely. In such cases billing matches exactly the electricity consumption during the period concerned. The amounts of the bills vary according to the amounts of electricity consumed during the year, but the total amount billed is the same as in equal instalment billing.
