Join district heating
District heating is suitable for the heating of buildings of all types and sizes.
District heating covers approx. 93% of Helsinki’s heating energy requirement and the district heating network extends to almost every corner of the city. Some 27 kilometres of new district heating network is being built annually. The network is being systematically expanded from district to district, taking customer needs into account.
In the case of single-family dwellings, it is usually houses located near the existing district heating network that are connected to the district heating network. In new single-family housing areas, preparations are made for the construction of the district heating network; the decision to expand the network will be made on the basis of demand.
