Sinetti contract seals the price of electricity

Helsingin Energia’s fixed-price electricity contract for household customers is called Sinetti. The Sinetti contract seals the sale price of electricity for two years at a time. During that time, the sale price will not rise or fall, no matter how the market price changes.

The Sinetti contract is a safe solution, if you want to know in advance the price you will pay for electricity in the future.  You will accrue Plussa points from purchases based on the Sinetti contract in the same way as from ordinary contracts.

Sinetti contract or an ordinary contract?

Helsingin Energia seeks to ensure competitive pricing for both contract types.  The mutual advantageousness of the alternatives is found out only after the fixed-price period of the Sinetti contract has ended.  Nobody can know in advance the development of the market price of electricity.

Only the sale price is sealed

Even if the sale price of electricity were sealed at a fixed level, changes in the distribution prices are still possible. The price of electricity distribution is always valid until further notice, in accordance with the public price list.

When the Sinetti contract expires, then what?

Well before the end of the contract period, Helsingin Energia will send the customer information on the prices that will be valid during a new contract period.  If the price is not sealed for a new fixed-term period after the contract period has ended, the contract will be treated as a normal contract valid until further notice, in accordance with the public price list. If the customer moves to a different location during a fixed-price period, an agreement is made to alter the contract so that it will concern the new address of the customer.

TurvaSinetti (Safe Seal) helps if prices fall

The Sinetti contract is suitable for customers who appreciate a stable sale price.  If you like, you can also buy a Turvasinetti, which allows you to exchange your Sinetti contract for a new one, if the price level of electricity happened to fall sharply during the contract period.

Turvasinetti is subject to a charge, and it is ordered at the same time as a Sinetti contract is concluded. You can use the right of exchange once during the contract period. Turvasinetti ensures that a Sinetti customer will not end up in a situation in which the price he or she pays for his electricity is clearly higher than the market price.
