Terms of contract - Suomisähkö for two years

The electricity sale price is fixed throughout the contract period.

The contract will enter into force according to the start date notified to Helen by the distribution system operator, however:

In the case of a new contract or house move in Helsinki, Espoo or the network area of Caruna, your electricity contract can start on the same day free of charge. The contract can commence free of charge in all regions in Finland within two working days of the order at the latest. Elsewhere in Finland, the earliest possible start date of the contract and an electricity connection fee will vary according to the local distribution system operator.

In case of supplier switching or change of contract type, the contract may enter into force in one month from placing the order at the earliest. If the customer’s valid fixed-term contract prevents the contract from entering into force on the preferred day, the start of the new contract will be postponed to the date of expiry of the current fixed-term contract.

Once the order has entered into force, the customer will be sent a notification of it by email.

After the end of the fixed term, the contract will continue until further notice in accordance with the public price list valid at any given time with a notice of termination of 14 days for the customer and 30 days for the supplier. If the metering point changes during a fixed-price period, for example, if the customer moves house, a transfer of the contract to the customer's new address shall be agreed on.

The terms of electricity sales and Helen’s general price lists valid at any given time shall be applied to the contract. The prices include value added tax. Any changes and increases in taxes and fiscal charges will be added to the electricity sale prices in accordance with their impact.

The electricity contract is meant for permanent dwellings and holiday homes with a main fuse of up to 63 A.

Electricity distribution and metering

Helen shall terminate the current electricity contract with the customer’s authorisation and, when necessary, draw up a new electricity network contract in the customer’s name. The distribution system operator is responsible for electricity distribution. The distribution system operator will invoice the customer for electricity distribution according to its price list. The distribution system operator is responsible for metering.

Cancellation right by virtue of the Consumer Protection Act

According to the Consumer Protection Act, the customer is entitled to cancel a new contract within 14 days. The time limit for cancelling the contract ends after 14 days from drawing up the contract.

In order to use the cancellation right, the customer must notify us [name, metering point address, metering point number and, if available, telephone number and email address] of their decision to cancel the contract in an unambiguous way (for example, by sending a letter by post or by email).

The customer may also use the cancellation form, but it is not compulsory to use it. To comply with the time limit for cancellation, it is sufficient that the customer sends a notification on using the right to cancel before the end of the cancellation period.

Impacts of cancellation

Once we have received the cancellation notice, the contract will become void. If the contract is drawn up in connection with a house move to start within 14 days (i.e. before the end of the cancellation period) at the specific request of the consumer, the consumer is obliged to pay the contract price for any electricity they have used before cancelling the contract.
