Hanasaari power plant
The Hanasaari power plant started to burn pellets in the end of 2015. In the next few years, we will develop flue gas cleaning systems and combustion technology at the power plant.
As a result of the improvements, the annual sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and particulate emissions will fall to less than half of the current levels. We are preparing to close the Hanasaari power plant by the end of 2024. The power plant will be replaces with renewable energy solutions.
