Environmental impact assessment procedure related to Helsingin Energia’s development programme is launched
Helsingin Energia’s development programme, Towards a Carbon-Neutral Future, is making progress. The environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedure related to the scheduled power plant solutions has been launched. The EIA programme will be discussed at a public meeting on 14 March 2013.
Helsingin Energia has launched an environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedure concerning increased use of biofuels in energy production in Helsinki. Notice of the EIA programme included in the assessment procedure was given by the Uusimaa Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, which acts as the liaison authority, on 25 February 2013.
The EIA programme is available on www.helen.fi/bioyva/ and on the website of the Uusimaa Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. The printed version of the programme can be collected from Helsingin Energia’s customer service at Sähkötalo (address Kampinkuja 2, open Mon-Wed, Fri at 8.30-16.00, Thu at 8.30-18.00).
The EIA programme will be discussed at a public meeting on 14 March 2013 at 18.00-20.00 in the auditorium of the City Planning Department, address Kansakoulukatu 3, Helsinki 10. Before the meeting, at 17.00-18.00, there will be an opportunity to view the plans in the lobby of the auditorium with the help of experts from Helsingin Energia, the company responsible for the project.
