Helsingin Energia’s shares in Tunturituuli Oy sold as part of sale of the company’s total share capital

According to the decision by the Helsinki City Council, Helsingin Energia’s shares in Tunturituuli Oy were sold as part of the sale of the wind power company's total share capital on Thursday, 31 October 2013.

Helsingin Energia had a 3.5% share (0.1 MW) of the shares of Tunturituuli Oy, which is part of the Fortum Group. This share, which is small in terms of the operations of Helsingin Energia, corresponded to wind power output sufficient for heating about six detached houses.  In accordance with its development programme, Helsingin Energia focuses on the development of wind power in projects of significant size in Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy and Suomen Merituuli Oy.

Tunturituuli Oy has wind power production in Lapland, on Olostunturi in Muonio. The company has produced wind power for its shareholders on the absorption principle. In the sale of the company’s total share capital, the shares were bought by private investors.
