Spot Electricity for companies and housing companies
The price of Spot Electricity is determined according to the market price of the power exchange. It is a great option for your enterprise or housing company if you are able to adjust your electricity consumption and you are prepared to monitor the spot prices of the power exchange. The price of the contract consists of the fixed fee and the price of energy.
Who is it for?
When you are prepared to adjust the electricity consumption of your enterprise or housing company and to monitor changes in the price of electricity.
Spot Electricity is a great choice when the market price of electricity takes a dive, such as when the prices of emission allowances decrease or when there are rapid changes in the water situation. In that case, the prices of other electricity products may not react to the price drop as quickly as Spot Electricity. In the opposite case, the prices of the exchange electricity contract are the first to react and jump up. This is a risk worth acknowledging.
You can monitor electricity consumption and the related costs in Yritys Helen. In the service, you will see a comparison of whether you have been able to save money with your consumption in comparison to steady-price electricity, for example.
How is the price formed?
The price of electricity is determined according to the exchange price by the hour and the consumption of electricity. The price of the contract consists of the fixed fee and the price of energy. Corporate prices are exclusive of value added tax (VAT 0%).
The invoice shows the average, realised price for the month. There are about 720 hours in a month, and a separate price is formed for each hour. That is why they are not itemised on the invoice. The average price is calculated by weighting the price for each hour of the month with the energy usage of the hour in question.
If the enterprise's electricity consumption is not measured and registered by the hour, the monthly price of electricity is calculated on the basis of the Group 3 typical load graph specified in Decision 491 of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Spot Electricity
A smart choice for companies that like to tie their electricity price directly to the market price. The actual average spot price on the electricity exchange in 2023 was 5.65 c/kWh (VAT 0 %, Excl. margin).
