Strategy

As the world changes around us, we want to do more than simply change with it: we want to anticipate the changes and lead the transformation of the energy sector as a trailblazer of the clean transition. The cornerstones of our strategy are the clean transition, flexibility and profitability.

The core aspects of our strategy are the clean transition, flexibility and profitability. Profitable business enables significant investments in clean transition projects, which we implement by increasing the flexibility of the energy system.

We have set a target of making our energy production carbon neutral by 2030. Additionally, we plan to phase out combustion-based energy production by 2040. We respond to increasing electricity price fluctuations with superior flexibility. New business models based on flexibility deliver significant benefits to our customers and protect our profitability. Clarifying our service offering and optimising our energy system enables us to strengthen our financial performance.

Here's how our strategy progressed in 2024

The first year of the new strategy period was focused on our new strategic priorities. We invested in renewable energy by for example increasing our renewable electricity production capacity. We commissioned Helen’s first electric boilers and made new investments in carbon-neutral heat production which made our direct greenhouse gas emissions decrease by 24 per cent.
