Helen Ltd is the market leader in Finland’s electricity sales, committed to making everyday life easier and more effortless for customers throughout the country. We are responsible for the production and distribution of district heating and district cooling in Helsinki, while also providing solutions for regional and renewable energy. We are systematically reducing our emissions by developing a smarter energy system, with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions and phasing out combustion-based energy production by 2040.
Customers and services
The Customers and services business unit provides electricityrelated services to consumers, housing companies and businesses. The business activities of the Customers and services unit are mainly focused on electricity contracts, in addition to which it offers flexibility and other value-added services.
Heating and cooling
Heating and cooling produces, distributes and sells heating and cooling in the Helsinki region. The focus of its business activities is on developing heating and cooling through investing in, and building, new production capacity. The business unit also maintains the city's critical energy infrastructure and is responsible for the security of supply.
Power generation
Power generation manages and develops diverse power generation. It includes investments in electricity production, which relies heavily on hydro, nuclear, wind and solar power. The unit is also responsible for developing the hydrogen business, which plays a key role in enabling flexibility.
Energy system optimisation
Energy system optimisation combines and optimises growing weatherdependent electricity production, demand and heating energy by utilising flexibility.
Helen Electricity Network
Helen Electricity Network is an electricity distribution company and is responsible for the maintenance, development and construction of the electricity network in the Helsinki region. As a company that is responsible for the security of supply, Helen Electricity Network ensures that its over 430,000 customers have a reliable supply of electricity. Its activities also include the construction of new electricity connections, electricity metering and the sufficiency of electricity distribution capacity.
