Summary of contract terms
- The contract is valid until further notice
- The price is based on the spot price to which margin is added.
- The price is valid until further notice
The electricity supplied under this contract is mixed electricity produced with renewable sources, nuclear power and fossil fuels in line with the Finnish production distribution.
1. VALIDITY OF THE CONTRACT
The Exchange Electricity contract is valid until further notice. The term of notice of the contract is fourteen (14) days.
2. PRICE OF ELECTRICITY
The energy price for the Exchange Electricity product is determined from the price of the Nordic Power Exchange (Nord Pool) in the Finnish price area. Value added tax and margin valid at any given time are added to the price. The price of electricity is determined according to the spot prices and the consumption of electricity. If the measurement period of the meter is different from the market's spot price period, an average spot price from NordPool's spot prices is calculated for the meter's measurement period, which is used for billing.
The prices announced do not include electricity distribution.
3. AMENDMENTS TO CONTRACT TERMS AND PRICES
The electricity supplier has the right to amend the terms and prices of the sales contract in accordance with the general terms of electricity sales by informing the customer one (1) month before the amendment enters into force. Spot price changes of energy do not constitute changes to prices or terms of contract of which the customer would need to be informed in advance.
4. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The contract is intended for delivery sites with a maximum main fuse of 3x63 A. The contract requires that the metering point is equipped with a remotely read metering device.
The contract shall enter into force on the start date indicated to Helen by the distribution system operator.
Distribution system operator
With the customer’s authorisation, Helen terminates the customer’s current electricity contract and, if necessary, signs a new electricity network contract on the customer’s behalf.
The local distribution system operator shall be responsible for electricity distribution and metering, and issue invoices for these in accordance with its price list valid at any given time. Reports of disruptions or other issues related to the functioning of the electricity network shall be made to the local distribution system operator.
Taxes and public charges
The effects of changes in taxes, public charges and other comparable charges on electricity prices shall be taken into account immediately from their date of entry into force.
Applicable terms and conditions
The product-specific terms and conditions shall apply to this contract on a primary basis, with the general terms of electricity sales valid at any given time applied on a secondary basis. The general terms of electricity sales and the service price list valid at any given time are available at www.helen.fi/en/electricity/electricity-products-and-pr ices/price-lists-and-terms-of-contract. If there are differences in the different language versions of the terms, the Finnish version shall apply.

Cancellation right by virtue of the Consumer Protection Act
According to the Finnish Consumer Protection Act, the customer is entitled to cancel a new contract drawn up by means of distance communications within fourteen (14) days. The time limit for cancelling the contract ends after fourteen (14) days from drawing up the contract. In order to use the cancellation right, the customer must notify Helen [name, metering point address, metering point number and, if available, telephone number and email address] of their decision to cancel the contract in an unambiguous way (e.g. by sending a letter by post or by email). The customer may also use the cancellation form sent with the confirmation of contract, but it is not compulsory to use it. To comply with the time limit for cancellation, it is sufficient that the customer sends a notification on using the right to cancel before the end of the cancellation period. Impacts of cancellation
Once Helen has received the cancellation notice, the contract becomes void. If the contract is drawn up in connection with a house move to start within fourteen (14) days (i.e. before the end of the cancellation period) at the specific request of the consumer, the consumer is obligated to pay the contract price for any electricity they have used before cancelling the contract.
5. RISKS AND OPPORTUNITIES RELATED TO THE PRODUCT
The price of electricity on the electricity market is determined by supply and demand. Spot price fluctuations on the electricity market offer customers the opportunity to influence the price of their electricity bill by timing their consumption to the most affordable periods.
The characteristics of spot priced electricity include that the price paid for electricity can vary significantly within a day as well as between days. The end user does not know the price beyond a one-day period. Therefore, from the customer's perspective, the spot priced electricity includes both opportunities and risks.
