The future heat and electricity will be produced from energy collected from the ground, air, water, and waste heat, which our customers also generate. If you're interested, this is your chance!

We are now looking for future energy sector professionals for the Helen Trainee Program. Our six-month trainee program starts in September 2025 and runs until March 2026. During the program, you will grow as a professional, learn about the energy transition, future energy solutions, and sustainability from both your own expertise area and the perspective of the entire energy sector.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals from various educational and professional backgrounds, and the program is intended for both those completing their university studies and those who have been in the working life for few years. A background in business or technical education is advantage, but for us it's enough you're interested in learning about energy industry! One of our values is mastery of collaboration, which is why we require good communication and teamwork skills from all Helen employees. To succeed in the role, you don't need to be a ready-made energy expert; what's most important is a lust for learning and enthusiasm for the job.

We are eager to find a total of six trainees for the following roles:

  • Junior Environmental Specialist: you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of environmental topics in the energy sector and contribute to a more sustainable energy future. Your tasks will be defined based on your experience and interests and may include, for example, supporting the development of environmental management across Helen’s operations, working on environmental reporting and its development, or assisting in managing environmental aspects in investment projects. Fluency in Finnish is a must.
  • Junior Energy System Analyst: you will support the unit responsible for the development of the energy system by assisting in planning and analyzing investments in the Helsinki energy system. Your responsibilities will include energy system modeling, techno-economic assessments, and market analyses. The specific tasks will be defined based on your experience and interests.Fluency in Finnish is a must.
  • Junior Analytics Engineer: you will work with analytics and reporting solutions that genuinely support business operations and data-driven decision-making. Your main responsibility will be to develop and maintain our Power BI environment and development practices, enabling us to deliver data and tools to the business more effectively. Tasks will be defined based on your interests and skills and may be technical or focused on data governance—for example, developing Power BI governance models and guidelines, creating Power BI application catalogs and monitoring reports, auditing the Power BI environment, and working closely with business stakeholders and Data Product Owners. Fluency in Finnish is a must.
  • Business Analyst Trainee: you will support Helen Electricity Network Ltd by analyzing network assets and forecasting their development. Your role will also include investment profitability calculations and analyzing the investment portfolio, along with improving related reporting practices. The position requires the ability to handle large datasets and knowledge of investment analysis. Fluency in Finnish is a must.
  • Customer Experience & Service Development Trainee: you will analyze and optimize customer journeys. Your tasks will include developing digital customer service channels, modeling key customer interaction moments, analyzing customer data and feedback, as well as defining the structure of service and product hierarchies. Fluency in Finnish is a must.
  • Electricity Forecast and Analyst Trainee: you will work in the Retail Electricity Product Management unit, gaining insights into electricity procurement through forecasting and analysis. Your responsibilities will include tasks related to both ongoing processes and various development projects. For example, you will analyze deviations between electricity consumption forecasts and actuals, as well as conduct different calculations related to costs and profitability. An interest in data, analytics, and electricity markets will help you succeed in this role. Fluency in Finnish is a must.

Helen Trainee program is a carefully designed framework and pathway through which you'll dive into the heart of the energy industry and enable a carbon-neutral future. Your personal career development during the program is supported by a coach and a dedicated mentor who will help shape your development path and facilitate the realization of your career aspirations. Additionally, you'll receive comprehensive orientation to our various business functions. You'll also have the opportunity to work on a cross-functional project at the corporate level with your fellow trainees. All trainee positions come with a fixed monthly salary of 3,000€.
