Trees are cleared in Viikinmäki
Helen Sähköverkko Oy is building new 110-kV power lines in Viikinmäki. Trees in the new line area are being cleared as from week 12.
In connection with the modernisation of the Viikinmäki substation, the power lines in the 110-kV distribution network will also have to be moved at the distance between two poles, i.e. along approximately 200 – 400 metres.
In this area, trees will be cut back from week 12 onwards.
A new landmark
In connection with the new routing of power lines, two old pylons along the Lahti motorway will be dismantled and replaced with a new landscape terminal tower, which will be completed in July. The landscape terminal tower is designed by Virkkunen & Co Architects and manufactured by Eltel Networks Oy. The line itself will be moved in early autumn 2014.
Construction work at the new switching substation is currently underway and it will be completed at the end of the year.
