Building and upgrading the district cooling and heating networks
Helen will be expanding the district cooling network and upgrading the district heating network in different parts of Helsinki during the summer.
Works on the district cooling network will take place in Humalistonkatu, between Nordenskiöldinaukio and Messeniuksenkatu, in Pieni Roobertinkatu, and in Yrjönkatu and Erottajankatu in the summer season of 2015.
District cooling is an easy, reliable and energy-efficient solution for customers. Joining the district cooling network considerably increases the share of renewable energy used by the property because the excess heat collected with district cooling, such as the heat of the sun, will be processed and utilised as district heat.
The district heating network will be upgraded during the summer along Viides Linja, Kalevankatu, in Vaasanpuistikko, along Eteläinen Hesperiankatu and Apollonkatu, and in Runeberginkatu and Helsinginkatu.
