Helen carries out regular thermal imaging surveys of the district heating network

Helen’s excellent district heating reliability is supported in part by a well-maintained district heating network. Maintenance work includes regular thermal imaging surveys, which will once again be carried out this year at the end of October, weather permitting.

The surveys are carried out from a helicopter and are used to examine differences in ground surface temperature in order to locate potential heat leaks and damaged insulation.

Weather permitting, the survey flights will take place at the end of October after sunset, when the ground surface temperature is even and traffic on the streets is as light as possible.
