Helen to dismantle coal unloading equipment in Ruoholahti
Helen will begin dismantling the coal unloading equipment located at the Tammasaari basin in Ruoholahti, Helsinki, at the turn of July and August. The work relates to former coal infrastructure that is no longer in use.
The dismantling works will be visible in the harbour area and may occasionally cause noise in the surrounding environment. The work will be carried out in a manner that minimises disruption to nearby residents and businesses as far as possible.
The coal unloading equipment formerly served energy production at the Salmisaari power plant. Helen phased out the use of coal in spring 2025.
